This snow forecast is brought to you by snow-forecast.com, with data collated throughout the ski season courtesy of a network of ski resort managers, the Skiclub of Great Britain and Skiresort Service International GmbH.

We choose to use this data provided by the Ski Club of Great Britian, as there is less likelihood of potential of confusion with language translation and we appreciate the value of their weather reports at 3 elevations, at the top, middle and bottom of lifts.

Tips

  • When snow conditions "could be better", hop on the bus to Courmayeur. Remember you do have to book a seat and it is no longer a free bus.

  • If visibility is poor, head for treed pistes.  There's not much here, as the resort is mostly above the tree line, but you will find lower altitude pistes at Les Houches. The pistes here are cut into the forest and this gives much better definition in white out conditions.

  • I know you've read this caution repeatedly on our site and it is so important I will repeat it.  Select a fine day for your adventure down the Vallee Blanche. Watching the weather report is essential.

  • Cham is primarily about high altitude skiing and long runs. Cable cars are prevalent here, not chair lifts because of the altitude and distances involved.  As a result, the weather at 3800m is likely to be different from at the village level at 1000m.  That's why I find reports of the Chamonix Snow conditions at the three elevations useful.
